I joined the governors of Raynsford in 2016, sitting on the Teaching and Learning committee and became Chair of Governors in 2019.
I have two daughters that attend the school in Year 4 and Reception.
I work at a large primary school in Stevenage with 500+ pupils, where I have been Deputy Headteacher for 11 years, and have worked within education for 17 years. Before becoming a Deputy Headteacher I taught in Year 5 and Year 6. I love my job and working with children and enjoy the opportunity to use these skills in a different school context as a governor at Raynsford.

I first became a governor at Raynsford not long after my son started at the school in 2002, using my expertise as a Chartered Accountant to provide support in financial and governance matters. Since Raynsford’s conversion to an Academy I currently serve as a Foundation Governor and as Chair of the Finance, Personnel and Audit Committee. I continue my career in an accountancy practice and am also treasurer of Henlow Methodist Church.
It is a joy to be part of the Raynsford family and to be involved in responding to many challenges and changes, constantly striving to provide the best start in life and education we possibly can for local children.

I first began supporting Raynsford shortly after my daughter joined the school by volunteering in Reception. However, I soon began reading with children in Years 1 and 4 which I still enjoy to this day, Covid permitting!
Due to my background as a Finance Director, and experience of managing the Pre-School accounts (prior to it becoming Rayndrops) I joined the Finance Committee. I have also had experience as Chair of the Premises Committee and have taken a keen interest in the fundraising activities of the school as past treasurer of the PTA.
I feel I have a great affinity with Raynsford as a key part of the village I have lived in for 25 years, and the school that my daughter attended and propelled her to wanting to be a primary school teacher.
Outside of school I continue to ride my bike and increasingly get to know the dog walking fraternity of Henlow village.
