Lord Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenant Visit June 2019
On June 26th June we were delighted to welcome the Lord Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenant of Bedfordshire to Raynsford Academy.
During the visit they were able to listen to the choir sing and take a moment to thank the Raynsford Choir for their memorable performance at the Bedford Corn Exchange to celebrate St George's Day.
At a special assembly we were also able to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Early Years Team for their Communication Award, Miss Holmes for her Certificate of Excellence as Outstanding Newly Qualified Teacher of the Year and Mrs Webb was awarded her the Silver Prize for SEND in the Pearson National Teaching Awards. She now goes on to the finals which will be televised at the end of October.
The Lord Lieutenant commented later:
“Such a jolly visit to Raynsford Academy this morning accompanied by DL Andrew Wallis MBE. These are the amazing pupils who stole the show at the recent St George's Day Concert of the Coldstream Guards at the Corn Exchange raising huge funds for local charities. It was wonderful to hear them sing again. An honour and a privilege to meet the staff and to present three of them with national awards for their outstanding contribution. The happy and achieving children are a direct result of their passionate Headteacher, teachers and staff, alongside engaged parents and marvellous governors and an active PTA”
