Raynsford Academy Church of England Acdemy

Governors

My name is Zoe Fleming, I am the Chair of Governors at Raynsford Church of England Academy.

At Raynsford Church of England Academy we have 12 Governors on the Governing Body.  We work as a Full Governing body and we also have a number of sub-committees, for example - the Finance and Personnel Committee and the Teaching and Learning Committee.  Governors are from the local community, we are made up of representatives from the staff, parents, Diocese and community.  We all strive to make a positive contribution to the education of pupils at Raynsford, by monitoring and raising school standards within the context of a Christian ethos.

The Full Governing Body has three core strategic functions –

  1. Setting vision, ethos and strategic direction at Raynsford Church of England Academy
  2. Ensuring accountability for academic performance
  3. Overseeing financial performance

If you would be interested in finding out more about the work of the Governing Body, or indeed feel you have the relevant skills and qualities to become a Governor at Raynsford Church of England Academy please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Diversity Indicators

The governors of Raynsford Church of England Academy believe it is important that boards reflect the diversity of the school communities they serve. Diverse boards promote inclusive school environments and provide diverse role models for staff and young people.

The governors have recently collected data on the diversity of the board, including data on age, gender and ethnicity.

They will use that data to inform their recruitment and training needs and ensure there is a diverse range of perspectives around the table to support robust decision making.

Due to our relatively small governing body we do not publish this diversity data online as individual governors could be identified and we have a legal obligation to protect their personal data.
